Ikon eastside...
I then travelled to Ikon east side to see Ryoji Ikeda... I saw an exhibition by this artist... but i'm sceptical about what it was trying to tell me..... all know is that when I left I had a irritating ringing noise in my ear. When I arrived I had to walk down this long dark corridor.. I felt like id lost my sense of sight and had to rely on my hands. I stood and watched the art but never really got anything out of it. I realised that there was a pattern but apart from that............. BLANK!!! mmmmmm -_-
Well I think you have to see it to understand what I am sayin as you may be thinking that i'm mad... but im not... so yeh..
Day at the Ikon gallery & Ikon east side
Well I was supposed to go straight to the Ikon Eastside gallery, but didnt realise that it was a totally different gallery to the Ikon... whas the point.... any way... whilst I was at the Ikon gallery I thought i'd have a browse and see if there were any interesting exhibitions on.
I discovered a very interesting exhibition by Semyon Faibisovich. He is a Russian artist and this is his 1st UK exhibition. The Story of the paintings are that they are oil paintings created from pictures taken on the mobile phone. He depicts scenes of everyday life in Razgulyai in Moscow. These paintings focus on 'Marginalised, unglamorous individuals'. Homeless and alcoholics.
This is a must see as you really see the true beauty in the paintings when yo study them from a far..... Up close you can see every brush stroke and blend . AMAZING!!--

Street Style Part 2
More on street style, I took a brisk walk down Digbeth side and found a fantastic display of graffiti. Looking at the whole piece was interesting but when you go up close, you can see individual pieces which are pieced together to create the big picture. What I was also thinking was ' What a whole lot of paint that took'. :)

Street style part1
Pop Jann Haworth
Today I went to the Wolverhampton Museum of Art and Design and went to the Jann Haworth exhibition. This exhibition was really exciting to see as her art is sewn cloth sculptures which refer to American pop themes like fast food, film stars, cheerleaders, cowboys and comics. Unfortunately I was unable to take any pictures. But I would recommend this exhibition which is on till 10th April 2010 and its FREE so make sure you go.

Midlands Young Fashion Designers Awards
Yesterday I attended the MYFDA- Midlands Young Fashion Designer Awards, where I saw some amazing designs from up and coming designers. The evening began with a song from a new artist called Yelitza who too comes from the Midlands. Every garment was fresh and exciting to see, and the designers were competing for work experience with industry professionals, and opportunity for their designs to be sold and for the designers profile to be featured in 69 magazine. Also the models were competing to become the face of MYFDA 2009. I have to say that the winners deserved to win as their creations were excptional and something that I would buy.
